Typesetting / desktop tape publishing of book game “Fabled Lands” by Dave Morris and Jamie Thomson
for Muduko / Trefl publisher.
The project involved preparing a book layout, typesetting and preparing for printing a book game with dimensions of 150 x 212 mm, 340 pages and 679 paragraphs.

This book is also a game - the reader can decide in which direction the plot will develop (the reader moves between paragraphs, not turns subsequent pages).

‘Each part of Fabled Lands is a fragment of a huge, open world that readers are free to explore. The individual parts of the series are not really fictional stories, but successive fragments of the land that come together to form one huge whole. This makes it possible to have extraordinary adventures, connecting the individual books into one big story. The player in the adventure can jump between different volumes within the same adventure. Wandering between different lands is like loading a new area to explore in a computer game, we change the location of the adventure and continue playing in a new environment. This makes the gameplay feel like a single-player RPG session, giving players incredible freedom to shape the story.’
